Ted Pohrte Scholarship
Many in DCCCD have had the privilege of working with Ted, who was with the District since 1973. Ted was at the core of the success of the District’s distance learning operation. A DCCCD distance learning scholarship fund opportunity has been established in his memory.

Amount of Award
$225 per semester, maximum of $450 per year or two courses at in-county tuition cost for FA and SP tuition only.

Eligibility Criteria
Restricted to Dallas Telecollege (9000 section courses) students who are degree and enrolled in a fall or spring semester-length class. DCCCD students must have and maintain a 2.5 GPA and carry a course load of at least six (6) hours.
- Have no outstanding debt with any DCCCD Financial Aid Office.
- GPA 2.5 or greater within DCCCD.

Application Process
Applicant must submit the following to the LeCroy Center/Dallas Telecollege which will be forwarded to DCCCD Scholarship Foundation:
- Complete Ted Pohrte Scholarship Application.
- 250 word, typed essay explaining "what distance learning means to me."
- Non-official transcript(s) will be accepted temporarily, but official transcript(s) are required within thirty (30) days of enrollment from all colleges and/or universities attended. Transcript(s) should be included when DCCCD scholarship application is submitted.

Selection Process and Deadlines
- Recipients are selected for the Ted Pohrte Scholarship by Dallas Telecollege.
- Maintain a 2.5 GPA for each semester the scholarship is awarded.
- Scholarships are reviewed at the end of each semester for the following semester, deadline for applying: Spring semester November 30 and Fall semester June 30 with disbursements in Aug. and Jan. of current semester applied.
